Plastic mold steel grade 4Cr13 (equivalent to S136, AISI 420, and DIN 1.2083) is a martensitic stainless steel. It offers good machinability and, after heat treatment, provides excellent corrosion resistance, superior polishability, high strength, and wear resistance. It is suitable for manufacturing components requiring strong resistance to nitric and organic acid corrosion, as well as plastic molds exposed to corrosive gases from chlorinated plastics or flame-retardant additives.
